When Haas arrived in F1 in 2016 its noom was not new to F1... 30 years ago, another American team raced in the premier class with the Haas name. However, it wasn't Gene Haas but Carl Haas, with no family connection.

An importer of Lola cars to North America, Carl Haas had set up an F1 team, the Beatrice Haas F1 Team, and his car was designed by Neil Oatley, Ross Brawn and Adrian Newey!
